3000 kilometers, 25 hours of sleep, 10 kilograms of pasta: 12 people from 12 different planets traveling to another one at the turn of the decade to see what matters.
Why ICE'20? Entering an ice cave you experience a unique wonder not accessible by anyone else sometimes even in a few weeks' time. The pace of glaciers melting changes the landscape dramatically and apart from all the political or scientific reasoning, tautologically speaking, the fact is a fact. After all, having a one-in-a-lifetime opportunity to admire this countenance of Nature makes you look at the world differently: as the work of art is dematerialising in front of you, you feel the transience materialising and etching in your mind.
And similarly, everything creating this spectacular adventure will never be the same. People, feelings, impressions and conclusions, each of us came to the island with something else to be confronted and left it with something new and important inside. Every next travel, meeting, even if together, will be different. Maybe better, maybe lacking something or someone that had been there but surely different, though exceptional again. And so the tangible sense of transience discovered in the cave brought about much deeper appreciation of the time we had.
