A documentary regarding the "Lonely Funeral Project" (De Eenzame Uitvaart). Every year in Amsterdam 15 to 20 people die without having anyone there to arrange their funeral. The reasons why differ, but the thing they have in common is that they die alone. Therefore the city of Amsterdam, along with a group of poets, arrange a funeral and a personal poem for the deceased. This documentary explores the different sides of the Lonely Funeral Project, from the poets to the funerals, and the founder of the project, Frank Starik Ger Fritz.
