Director’s Biography – Shaghayegh Nozari

Shaghayegh Nozari is an Iranian director and animator from Mazandaran, now based in Hatfield, UK. She is completing a degree in 2D Digital Animation at the University of Hertfordshire, following studies in Media, Art, and Art History at Oxford Sixth Form College.

Drawing since the age of five, her work is shaped by emotionally driven storytelling inspired by classic Disney films, DreamWorks epics, and comic books. Her artistic focus lies in dramatic, historically rooted, and music-infused narratives that explore the human experience.

Her latest film, Arash the Archer, draws from Persian mythology and Western animated musicals. Serving as director, writer, art director, lead animator, and voice actor, she led a small, diverse team through a challenging production driven by collaboration and purpose. Through her work, Shaghayegh seeks to revive powerful, authentic stories and bring overlooked cultural narratives to new audiences.
